How does Minute Menu help State Agencies?

Minute Menu is a comprehensive CACFP management system, designed both to automate Sponsor operations and improve Sponsor compliance with federal and state regulations by offering a powerful reporting framework that focuses a Sponsor's managerial attention on potential CACFP hotspots.

There are over 100 reports built into Minute Menu, and 6 custom report writers, that allow Sponsors to get extremely useful managerial guidance on virtually all aspects of their businesses.  But just as these reports can be used by Sponsors to ensure they stay in compliance with CACFP regulations, state agencies can likewise use them to dramatically streamline the process of performing administrative reviews.  These reports include:

  • Claim and Review Comparison Report - lists a count of the number of meals claimed, broken down by meal (including a separate breakouts for weekends), along with a  count of the number of visits done for those meals (and on weekends), with percentages.  Using this report, it's easy to tell whether the Sponsor is visiting meals (and weekends) in the same proportion that they are being claimed.
  • Block Claiming Reviews Report - lists all providers identified as block claimers, along with the date any followup review was done for that block claim, and even lists the comparison 60 day followup required by date, which easily highlights any block claimer that wasn't followed up on.
  • Claimed Foods & Attendance With Tier - a detailed report listing all foods and children claimed in a month, with an indication as to whether the child was paid or disallowed by Minute Menu, and if paid, what Tier was the child paid at.  Using this report, reviewers can very easily determine whether the claim was reviewed and processed accurately, or whether mistakes were made.
  • Claim List Export File - a customizable report that, among other things, allows you to get a list of all the providers claiming in a particular month that claimed dinners, evening snacks, weekends, over $1000, had an over capacity problem, claimed their own children, or had any combination of those situations.
  • Providers Not Reviewed Report - will list any provider not seen in the past 6 months, or any provider not seen at least twice in 9 or 12 months, or any provider who didn't receive at least two meal visits in a fiscal year, or two unannounced visits in the last 12 months... this report allows you to review many different scenarios quickly and easily to ensure the entire caseload is being monitored properly.

If you'd like, we can send you a binder of the reports Minute Menu generates, and even a full users manual for the software.  Just contact us

Minute Menu can provide access to the state agency to review these reports, and can provide training to state agency staff so they can effectively use these tools.

Minute Menu State Module

The Minute Menu State Module is an add-on to Minute Menu that can be purchased by state agencies that will allow the state agency to print Minute Menu reports via the Internet, from state agency offices.  Using the Minute Menu State Module, state agencies can drastically cut the cost of travel associated with an administrative review, as state agency staff can review all Minute Menu reports from their main office, and then a skeleton staff of reviewers would go on site simply to ensure paper records matched the reports printed from Minute Menu.

If your agency is interested in using the Minute Menu State Module, please contact us for pricing.
